Spokane, WA
Project Overview
Yasuhara Middle School in northeast Spokane is one of the projects that Spokane voters approved by passing the 2018 Bond. The $50m, 140,000 SF middle school, along with Pauline Flett MS in northwest Spokane, are the first new middle schools constructed by Spokane Public Schools in over 30 years. Yasuhara is designed and constructed under the new district-wide model that moves sixth grade to middle school and is designed around learning neighborhoods. Learning neighborhoods along with spending three years in middle school are intended to help middle school students develop a better sense of community allowing for a better sense of belonging and an improved opportunity to learn.
